Sidney Bloxom Memorial Scholarships - 2007/2008
The Saskatchewan Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) is proud to offer two $500 scholarships ($1,000 total) to Saskatchewan High School students who submit an essay on a selected topic on Fraud Prevention and Education.
Students in grades 9 to 12 attending a Saskatchewan High School are eligible upon submission of an essay on the following topic:
The topic selected for the 2007-2008 competition is as follows:
Internet fraud has been expanding exponentially in recent years as Criminals can manipulate people into performing certain actions or divulging confidential information without having to do it in person. Describe the steps people can take to safeguard themselves while on the internet fro these invisible social engineers.
Your essay must be: a) written in English, b) type written and double-spaced, and c) no more than three to four pages. Students should be aware that considerable emphasis will be placed on content, grammar, and syntax.
You should submit your essay to the following address:

Your submission should include your name, grade and name of your school.
The Deadline for submissions is April 4, 2008.
The two winners will be selected by ACFE chapter members, and will be announced in May on our web site: www.sask-acfe.com. The results of previous scholarship competitions are also available at this web site.
